A Better Medway Champions - Improving Health & Wellbeing

Why Me?

You are someone who has a wide range of contacts within the community; enabling you to contribute towards improving health and wellbeing in Medway.

Communication of information about public health issues and health promotion services is crucial to this. You will therefore be able to use knowledge gained on the Programme to influence and raise awareness amongst your peers and the residents of Medway.

What Is it?

It is a network of Champions with knowledge and skills who are able to take every opportunity to help the population make informed choices about healthy lifestyles and how to access support services.

‘Public Health is the science and art of promoting and protecting health and well-being, preventing ill-health and prolonging life through the organised efforts of society.’  UK’s Faculty of Public Health.

As part of the network, you will be kept up to date with public health news, receive signposting to e-learning resources and also be invited to refresher training and network events.

Once you become A Better Medway Champion, you will be able to take opportunities to utilise your knowledge and skills to:

  • promote health and wellbeing
  • communicate key messages and service information
