Cycling is an excellent form of exercise which millions of
people enjoy every day. Once you own a roadworthy bike and some
basic safety equipment, there are many routes that you can explore
Active Medway Cycle Scheme is the first of its kind in England.
Organised by Medway Public Health Department in conjunction with
British Cycle and CTC, our scheme is especially designed for
beginner riders, riders who require more confidence on routes with
a little traffic, or just wanting to get fitter. GP referred

All our rides are led by trained cycle leaders, hand picked by
us, so that they can help you rediscover the joy of cycling whilst
engaging in friendly banter.
Consistency is our strength! Same venue, same time! And the
routes vary little so that by riding them regularly you can see how
quickly your fitness levels improve. During the summer there will
be five rides to choose from and three through the winter. Our
beginners route is flat, which follows the River Medway compared to
the intermediate ride at Hoo or our longest ride at Lordswood which
has a couple of slopes thrown in to test your fitness. From 10mins
to around 10 miles, you get to decide.
When fully fit and you feel that you have out grown us, and wish
to join a club we have the knowledge to signpost you to one that
will suit your needs. We work well with two or three in the area.
