There is a wide range of local exercise opportunities that do not fall within the sport, dance, walking, gym or water based category. We are lucky to have some excellent facilities in the Medway area, and you can find these by using the service search function on this page.

You may be pleasantly surprised at the number of different activities that will help you to keep active, including:

Getting out in the garden whether it’s to grow fruit and vegetables to eat or flowers to admire is great for your health! Gardening provides gentle exercise (depending on how many weeds you may have!), can help to improve mental wellbeing and reduce stress levels.

The Medway Public Health Team have their very own allotment, which they encourage local groups to come down and use. To date they have grown potatoes, tomatoes, squash, raspberries, strawberries & much, much more!

If you would like to find out more about the Allotment and how you could be involved with Public Health Team then please follow this link.

If you have limited space or would like some help with growing fruit and vegetables at home, the Public Health Team are working with the ‘Master Gardeners’ to provide advice and support to Medway households. Please follow this link for more information.
