5 Ways to Wellbeing - Take Notice

Fields and trees on a sunny day

Be curious. Catch sight of the beautiful. Remark on the unusual. Notice the changing seasons. Savour the moment, whether you are walking to work, eating lunch or talking to friends. Be aware of the world around you and what you are feeling. Reflecting on your experiences will help you appreciate what matters to you (New Economic foundation).

Being in the moment or being more aware of the things around us and even our own feelings and emotions help us to reflect and respond positively instead of reacting and regretting later. This also stops us from being upset thinking about the losses and mistakes of the past or worrying about the future.

A simple way to practice this is by being mindful of your breathing. Just notice the rhythm of breathing in and breathing out.
